Mental Drips

Often I will find nonsense leak into my consciousness. This comes in the form of vivid imagery, strange lyrics, or bare concepts. The other day I was walking to cash my paycheck and "the apartheid glow of the emerald snow" landed on my brain. I didn't really make any sense of it, although I do kind of like it. Probably half of the songs that I have written come out of this kind of disjointed, unfastened mental drips.

Spring Break is quickly approaching and the weather seems promising enough. UMass, as smart as the faculty is, decided to wrap the one week vacation around St. Patrick's Day. Before I head home for break I have a lot of reading and studying to do, which I should probably continue working on.

Speak easy,
Neil

+20 points to Jim for the UMass scavenger hunt. Lev said that they erased the "defect" graffiti on Herter since I took the picture.

There's a girl that lives in chatham or orleans I think that does an absolutely stunning cover of Nico's 'These Days'

I don't think she still has it up on her site, but I believe you can find her at
www.myspace.com/lydiaparkington if you don't already know her personally.

I can send you the cover at some point, if you want. Personally, I like it better than the original.

Also, some friends and I have been working together on that website you posted a while back (thisisnottom) and we beat it, sort of. After the last level, its just a link to their youtube site and in the source code, in place of the hints that are usually located there, it just says "subscribe and wait!"

A friend sent me a similar website, more targeted at computer geek teenagers. It's much easier, imo, but try for yourself if you haven't yet:
www.notpron.com
(ridiculous url, I know.)
